McCain Foods
In 1957 Wallace and Harrison McCain, supported by brothers Andrew and Robert, founded McCain Foods Limited in Florenceville, New Brunswick, Canada. Immersed in agriculture from an early age, it was their father’s search for stability as a grower that led the McCain brothers to the idea of a frozen food company – building factories to process regionally grown crops would increase demand for the raw materials. Where it all started

Playero Foods
Mexican Cheese Producers, Inc. was founded in 1994 by Miguel & Martina Leal, originally of Irapuato, Guanajuato, Mexico.

Miguel started working with a friend that believed in Miguel's dream. They began this story with an Amish Cheese Factory Co-op in Ohio. Here they would produce American type cheese in the morning and in the afternoon Miguel would work on his own recipe to produce 60lb wheels of Queso Cotija cheese ~ the parmesan of Mexico. When the recipe was formulated to perfection, the next big question was how to sell the cheese. Miguel found that the closest Mexican market was Chicago, 500 miles away. Making the cheese on one day and taking it to market the next, Miguel would drive to Chicago twice a week, selling his Cotija wheels to the produce and meat wholesalers in the city's famous Water Market District.

After a few months, people started to recognize the quality and authenticity of the Mexican Cheese Producers, Inc. products. Following a few years of long days and real tenacity, the strong demand for MCP products encouraged Miguel to make the difficult decision to buy a factory in Wisconsin. This would bring Miguel one step closer to his goal ~ to produce more volume, be closer to the market, and most importantly, to utilize the finest quality milk in the country ~ Wisconsin milk.

This is when Mexican Cheese Producers, Inc. started diversification of the types and presentations of Mexican cheese. By the beginning of 1998, MCP had already gained a percentage of the market in the Eastern United States.

Once again, production levels encouraged Miguel to take another step, coming closer to his dream by building a new, state of the art, 40,000 square foot cheese factory, fully inspected by the U.S.D.A. Quijote Foods
Elore Enterprises was founded in Miami in 1988 by three Spanish friends that emigrated to US. They noticed the absence of an Authentic Spanish Style Sausage ( Chorizo ) in the market and decided to pursue the goal to offer one of the best products of the Spanish Cuisine. They opened a small plant in Miami and started to produce a line of chorizos based on Spanish recipes and began to sell those products in the local market.

In 19 97 Palacios was the first Chorizo manufacturer in Spain to be approved by USDA in order to be allowed to export to US. Even though the brand name smacks of a multinational firm originating from the northern Pyrenees, RENY PICOT is actually an Asturian family business that has its main center of activity in the Anleo Valley. Since it was founded in March in 1960 until the present day, INDUSTRIAS LÁCTEAS ASTURIANAS S.A. (ILAS S.A.), owners of the brand name RENY PICOT, has increased and strengthened its presence in the domestic market, without renouncing its international growth, with presence in countries such as Mexico, United States, France, Portugal, China and Poland.

The name Reny Picot, chosen as the trade name for the products manufactured by ILAS, has been linked to the group since its beginnings. On its first day of production, ILAS used 125 liters of milk to manufacture a few Camembert type cheeses and when it came to naming the product, it was decided that it should have a French air about it so that it would "sound right". This was how the name RENY PICOT was chosen, which subsequently came to identify the group, although the parent company and legal representative is INDUSTRIAS LÁCTEAS ASTURIANAS.

Reny Picot's founder, Francisco Rodríguez, began his career in the fifties working in the family business, Mantequerías Rodríguez, S.A., in Madrid. This firm also owned a plant in El Escorial that was also absorbed by ILAS and which today constitutes a cornerstone of the group.
